  • - Minimum 3,000 hours of work experience (from max. 3 employers) before February 2026 (Group 2 countries)
  • - Demonstrated leadership experience
  • - Not a citizen or permanent resident of Sweden/EU/EEA
  • - Has not previously received a Swedish Institute scholarship
  • - Not currently enrolled at or holding a degree from a Swedish university
  • - Has not lived cumulatively 2+ years in Sweden before the scholarship period

How to apply

  1. 1Step 1 (Oct 15 – Jan 15): Apply to up to 4 eligible master's programmes at UniversityAdmissions.se. Note your 8-digit application number.
  2. 2Step 2 (Feb 9 – Feb 25): Apply for the SISGP scholarship via the SI portal (apply-scholarships.si.se). Upload: SI CV template, proof of work and leadership experience (SI template, signed and stamped), 2 reference letters from 2 different referees, copy of valid passport/ID, and motivation statement.
  3. 3Step 3: SI screens applications for eligibility and conducts initial evaluation.
  4. 4Step 4 (Mar 26): University Admissions announces results. Only admitted/conditionally admitted applicants continue to final evaluation.
  5. 5Step 5 (Apr 23): SI announces scholarship recipients. Formal offer sent by email in late April.
